We did it! Thank you, Hudson!

Final but unofficial numbers are in reporting me leading in this race for the at-large position.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Hudson. I am honored, humbled, and excited to represent you as an at-large council member for the remainder of this term. This election cycle has been a whirlwind, but I have enjoyed every second of getting to know all of you and becoming more deeply engaged with the community. I promise I will work hard, and I look forward to making progress for you on many important issues with my new colleagues currently serving on Council, and our city staff members. Many feel that Hudson is very divided over several issues, so I hope I can bring the healing and unity that our city and our Council needs.

I had two opponents who both presented their case for this position in their own way, and looking back on this race I am very impressed with the unique races each of them ran. Running is hard and takes dedication, stamina, and sacrifice, so I want to thank each of them for their willingness to serve our community.

When I first decided to run, I was 39 weeks pregnant and delivered our sweet Eleanor just days later. I knew that I had to run because I was the best person for the job. But I also ran for my daughter, for my sisters, and for all the girls out there to remind them their voice deserves to be heard and they absolutely can have a seat at the table.

Thank you to everyone who voted for me. Thank you to my family, especially my husband, Ross. Thank you to my friends, supporters, and dedicated volunteers. I could not have done this without all of you.

Thank you again. I will make you proud.

-Nicole
